Chinn pleased with USDA’s relocation choice

Missouri Agriculture director Chris Chinn says the selection of the Kansas City region for the relocation of two USDA agencies is a great thing.

Chinn tells Brownfield Ag News, “This is not only going to be a benefit for the Kansas City region but it’s really a huge benefit for our farmers and ranchers everywhere.”

Chinn says it was a team effort in Missouri, “Between Governor Parson, myself, the University of Missouri system, the Department of Economic Development with director Rob Dixon. We were really working closely with everybody, and the Kansas City region as well, to make sure that we were a viable choice for USDA when they made that relocation decision.”

Ag Secretary Perdue picked the Kansas City area over sites in Indiana and North Carolina. Funding for the move must be approved by Congress.
