Metalachi Concert 

Metalachi: The World's First and Only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band, will be rocking out their unique, blended sound of both music genres at the Rio Grande Theatre, 211 N. Battle of the Badges 

Battle of the Badges is hosted by the Las Cruces Professional Fire Fighters Union #2362 where public safety personnel will go toe-to-toe and duke it out for charity. Proceeds will benefit The Honor Flight of Southern New Mexico, Presents for Peds and local boxing gyms. The event will be held at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave. at 7 p.m. Las Cruces country music artist Frank Ray will be headlining the official after party concert. Tickets to the event are $20. For those only interested in seeing Ray, tickets are $10. Backyard BBQ Cook-off & Cornhole Tournament

The Las Cruces Police Department is planning a Backyard BBQ Cookoff and Cornhole Tournament at Apodaca Park, 801 W. Madrid St. Proceeds from the event benefit New Mexico Special Olympics. The day-long event will also feature an Ident-A-Child for children, a Check-the-Chip for pets, an LCPD K-9 demonstration, Bicycle Rodeo, Poison Control Awareness, recycling tips with Libby the Dog, and the Las Cruces Fire Department will hold a hands-only CPR clinic. Registration for the Backyard BBQ Cookoff begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Apodaca Park. Chefs can begin cooking their best pork or beef ribs at 9 a.m. with judging to begin at 3 p.m. The entry fee for the cookoff is $50 per entry. Registration for the Cornhole Tournament will start at 9 a.m., tournament is set to begin at 10 a.m. Info: Las Cruces Codes Enforcement, 575-528-4517.

The Amador LIVE, 302 S. Main St., presents four Grammy winners in one night including Little Joe y La Familia for Noche de los Padres.  General Admission is $35 showtime begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Amador LIVE presents four Grammy winners in one night: Little Joe y La Familia & Ruben Ramos. Appearances by "Texas Tornado Legends" Augie Meyers and Flaco Jimenez. Raft the Rio 

The theme of this year's Raft the Rio is "Pirates of the Rio Grande" and participants are encouraged to dress as buccaneers as they "sail" down the river in rafts made out of recyclable materials. The Raft the Rio route begins at the Picacho Bridge at La Llorona Park, 3440 W. Picacho Ave., and ends at the Mesilla Bridge on Calle Del Norte. Rafts will launch at 10 a.m. right after the kayak launch which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Onsite registration begins at 8 a.m. Day of the race is $25 for up to two sailors, additional crew members is $5 for each sailor age 13 or older.
