[productsample/affiliatelink] I hate to be the enabler, but I couldn’t love the new Darphin Petal Infusion Lip & Cheek Tints any more. I’m mesmerised by the petals suspended in the clear tint gel that denote not only the fragrance but the floral infusion.
The tints work at a pH level, so they start off clear and colour emerges as soon as the formula hits your skin. In terms of shade, they’re the best I’ve ever seen. Usually, pH products go a lurid pink, but these are gentle with just enough hue emerging to give your cheeks a pretty flush and bring a natural, but emphasised look to your lips. You really can’t go wrong.
I kept checking over the course of an hour or so to check that the colour was still there (I tested the calendula version) and was pleased to find that it hadn’t gone a bold shade and nor had it faded away.
So, the infusions are cornflower petals (blue), rose petals (pink) and calendula petals (peachy/pink). Key ingredients in the non-sticky tint balms include grapeseed oil, apricot oil and Vitamin E with no mineral oils. The scents are very mild – I can only bring them down to generically floral (apart from rose, which does smell lightly rosy). Just time for a quick mention of the Hydraskin Cooling Hydrating Stick for Face and Eyes. This is a very gentle cooling stick which it needs to be for the face. You definitely do get a cooling sensation and it serves as a hot-day make up primer or an any-time quick cooler. It’s a super formula – it literally feels like you’re swiping solid chilled water across your face, especially under the eyes. The cooling doesn’t immediately disappear so its quite relieving to be honest as well as being extremely refreshing.
The components are hyaluronic acid, frozen water algae (no, I have no idea either), antioxidant pomegranate (I bet they thought about watermelon!) and leaves a moisturised feel on the complexion. If you hate hot feeling skin on your face, this works as an instant pick-me-up. I don’t know if I’d go as far as to say it’s a good pick up for a hot flush but I can see how the chill of it might take your mind off the heat everywhere else – in my head, I think of it as that ‘ahhhhhh’ moment on a very hot, sticky day where you feel flushed and flustered. There’s something very centring and mindful about it and it’s a lovely formulation that’s well worth the £25 tag. Darphin is absolutely on fire right now! The cooling stick is HERE.
