Silver Peak’s SD-WAN platform, Unity EdgeConnect, is now available as a managed service from NSC Global, an IT services procurement and logistics company. The new global partnership means enterprises and service providers can purchase SD-WAN deployment services from a single source with additional management, monitoring, and IT consulting services.
Michael O’Brien, vice president of partner sales at Silver Peak, describes it as a “true turnkey SD-WAN offering” with additional business services provided by NSC. The new arrangement also has the potential to expand Silver Peak’s reach by tapping into NSC’s footprint in more than 180 countries with a network of more than 4,500 partners.
Silver Peak’s Unity EdgeConnect platform, which can be deployed as a single virtual network function (VNF), has been certified for deployment in Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud. The company gained certification in Google Cloud earlier this year. Silver Peak’s SD-WAN appliance also includes routing, security, and integrated WAN optimization.
Organizations can now turn to NSC to “design, deploy, manage, and operate a global WAN built on Silver Peak’s Unity EdgeConnect offering, which speed time to benefit and revenue,” O’Brien wrote in response to questions. “Silver Peak sees this as part of our continued focus on enhancing our ability to deliver globally. NSC Global has the capacity and resources that larger enterprises and [top-tier service providers] need today.”
NSC’s managed SD-WAN service includes consulting, purchase or lease of hardware and software, deployment, provisioning, and lifecycle management. Additional services include capacity analysis, network and application performance monitoring, and reporting.
“By partnering with Silver Peak, we can expand our global SD-WAN services practice, offer a white-label managed SD-WAN service to our service provider clients, and offer new and existing enterprise clients turnkey managed SD-WAN services,” said Sascha Groeger, chief commercial officer at NSC, in a prepared statement. This gives service providers and enterprises a path to more quickly transition to managed SD-WAN services and accelerate cloud adoption initiatives, Groeger explained.
“We are seeing a high level of interest with global telcos and providers which want to leverage this relationship to speed their time to market and reduce their time to revenue for a Silver Peak SD-WAN offering,” O’Brien wrote.
Silver Peak in October ranked as the third “leader” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant. This followed on the heels of a $90 million strategic investment from TCV to accelerate the growth of its SD-WAN platform.
