The American Dream and Promise Act


Tomorrow, the House will Vote on the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019 (H.R.6), a Landmark Bill that would offer a Path to Citizenship for 2.5 Million Dreamers and other Immigrants who have Lived in the U.S. for Decades.

Dreamers, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), who are Eligible for Protection under the Bill on average arrived in the U.S. at the age of 8 and have grown up and built their lives knowing the U.S. as their Home.

Immigrants Eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) Programs Protecting Individuals in the U.S. whose Countries of Origin are Experiencing ongoing Armed Conflict, Natural Disasters, or other Extraordinary Conditions have, on average, lived in the U.S. since 1997.

The State Fact Sheets provide an In-Depth Look at Immigrants Eligible for Protection under the Dream and Promise Act.

Each State Specific Fact Sheet includes Estimates of the following Data, where available:

- The Number of Immigrants Eligible for Protection

- The Number of Individuals, including U.S.-Born Citizen Children, Living with Family Members who are Eligible for Protection

- The Average Age at Entry to the U.S. for Dreamers (Protected under Title I)

- The Average Year of Arrival to the U.S. for TPS and DED Eligible Immigrants (Protected under Title II)

- Homeownership Numbers and Annual Mortgage Payments

- Federal and State and Local Tax Contributions for Households with Dream and Promise Act Eligible Immigrants

- Spending Power

- Cities and/or Counties with Sizeable Populations of TPS Holders
