Racine County 911 dispatchers received an unusual call Friday from a semitrailer driver on an Interstate 94 exit.

The driver told dispatchers he could hear voices in the walls of his truck, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, and at first, deputies thought the Neenah man, 55, was experiencing a mental health crisis at the northbound County G exit.

But officers found open containers of alcohol, drugs and paraphernalia in his truck and arrested him on suspicion of fourth-offense impaired driving.

The Sheriff’s Office also plans to recommend charges for possession of marijuana, drugs and open containers of alcohol.
