Nebraska Farm Bureau appreciates assistance, but ‘prefers open markets’
The president of Nebraska Farm Bureau, Steve Nelson, says while trade assistance from the federal government is appreciated and helpful, farmers would much prefer to see trade issues resolved.
“The sooner that we can get those done, the better off everyone will be, whether it’s in farming or ranching or other parts of the economy—and we can move past the tariffs and move past the assistance program and let the marketplace work,” Nelson says.
At the same time, Nelson says, Nebraska Farm Bureau continues to support President Trump’s efforts to address trade issues with China.
