Lawmakers reach agreement on disaster package

Congressional lawmakers have reached agreement on a 19-billion dollar disaster package.

The bill passed the Senate Friday afternoon and is headed to the House. It delivers aid to Midwestern states deluged with springtime floods, among others. It also includes payments to farmers whose stored corn and soybeans were damaged by this spring’s flooding.

House approval is expected on Friday.
