Another flare-up in U.S.-China trade tensions

U.S.-China trade tensions appear to be on the rise again.

A spokesperson for China’s Commerce Ministry says if the U.S. wants to keep negotiating on trade, it must “adjust its wrong actions—only then can talks continue”. He did not mention any U.S. actions specifically, but may be referring to new export restrictions placed on Chinese telecom firm Huawei Technologies.

U.S Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told CNBC on Wednesday that another trip to Beijing has not been planned. President Trump has said he plans to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in late June at the G-20 meeting in Japan.
