Operations Superintendent/MQ-9 Flight Examiner & Launch and Recovery Sensor Operator SMsgt. Shane tells a group of about 20 civilians an overview of the mission.

About 45 employers from around the Alamogordo area went to Holloman Air Force Base for a National Guard boss lift May 17.

"The 'Boss Lift' program gives employers a firsthand look at the missions their employees are supporting when they perform their Guard or Reserve drill duty or are activated to meet their service commitments," 2nd Lt. Jasmine Manning of the 49th Wing Public Affairs Office said.

"These events go a long way to bridge the gap of understanding between the employee and their employer when it is time to change uniforms and serve their country in their Guard and Reserve status."

The employers heard a presentation by Operations Superintendent/MQ-9 Flight Examiner and Launch and Recovery Sensor Operator Staff Msgt. Shane. The Staff Master Sgt.'s full name is excluded for security reasons.

Behind him was film of MQ-9 Reaper drone missions.

"(We're) looking at stuff, looking for bad guys, searching for any kind of targets that we may get from our customer or whatever we're tasked to do," SMsgt. Shane said.
