A fisherman found a body in the Susquehanna River Sunday morning, police said.

The call originally came into 911 just after 8:30 a.m. as a water rescue. Units responded to the river at Long Level Road and Woodduck Lane. The coroner's office was called at some point after that, according to 911.

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has been called to an area of the Susquehanna River off Lower Windsor Township.

Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni said the individual has not been identified yet, and based on the level of decomposition, the body was in the river for a few weeks.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning in Lancaster.

Just last week, several fishermen found what turned out to be human remains along the Susquehanna River near the Hepburn Street Pump Station in Williamsport.
