Farmer hopes to begin planting this weekend

Central Indiana Farmer Mike Beard says there’s still little planting progress in his area.

“We have finished some spraying and sometimes we sprayed around spots that we didn’t want to track through because of wet conditions, but there’s not much being done here,” he says.

He tells Brownfield if all goes well, he’ll be planting this weekend.

“I have select fields that are well drained that I would think I could put a planter in Saturday,” he says. “That is, with no rain and a nice breeze and good sunshine- all of the above.”

Beard grows corn and soybeans in Clinton County.
