It's not uncommon for the Pa. Game Commission to set traps out after reports of a bear causing problems.

But what they caught in their trap on May 16 was anything but ordinary.

A rare, 332-pound cinnamon-colored black bear was caught in a trap in Synder County after reports were made that a nuisance bear was getting into a chicken coop.

A 332-pound cinnamon bear was caught in Snyder County.

Because the bear is so rare, state wardens took the bear to the Indian Valley Elementary School where approximately 600 students and several teachers could share in the rare opportunity to see a cinnamon-colored black bear and learn more about it.

The bear was eventually relocated and released on the Rothrock State Forest in Mifflin County.
