Baldwin critical of Trump as Pence visits Wisconsin to talk trade

Wisconsin’s Democratic Senator is critical of the Administration’s trade policies, as Vice President Mike Pence visits Eau Claire, Wisconsin today to talk about trade issues.   Tammy Baldwin says Pence is visiting the epicenter of the U.S. dairy industry and farmers need certainty. “We have lost 1,480 dairy farms since the administration took office and farmers in Wisconsin need certainty, and this administration hasn’t provided any yet.”

Baldwin is critical of President Trump’s tariffs on China, and the steel and aluminum tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

Baldwin does not see any Congressional action coming soon on the USMCA agreement. “What we’re hearing from the House of Representatives is, how do we know this is going to be enforceable?”

The Vice President is participating in a roundtable discussion on the USMCA agreement at J&D Manufacturing in Eau Claire before speaking about the impact that agreement will have on Wisconsin.
