Michigan invests in food and ag projects

The Michigan Ag Commission has awarded $400,000 through the state’s Food and Ag Investment Fund for 2019.

Five projects were selected to fuel business growth and jobs in the food and ag sector.

Michigan Turkey Producers was awarded $125,000 as part of a $13.1 million expansion and automation project in Wyoming. 

Northern Hardwoods in the Upper Peninsula will receive $100,000 to expand a kiln drying lumber facility. 

Berrybrook Enterprises was awarded $75,000 to build a new controlled atmosphere apple storage facility in Hartford. 

True Blue Processing in Grand Junction will use $50,000 to blue new equipment to process fresh blueberries.  Dave’s Sweet Tooth received $50,000 to upgrade facilities and packaging equipment.
