Milk futures mostly higher, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange traded mostly higher Wednesday while cash markets were mixed.

May Class III milk down two cents at $16.27.  June up a nickel at $16.24.  July a dime higher at $16.41.  August up 12 cents at $16.74.  September through January contracts were nine to 13 cents higher.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.34. 

Blocks down $0.0025 at $1.6575.  One trade was made at that price.

Barrels up $0.0125 at $1.61.  Four trades were made ranging from $1.61 to $1.6125.

Butter up $0.0225 at $2.3725.  Eight trades were made ranging from $2.3475 to $2.3725.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0075 at $1.05.  One trade was made at that price.

Weekly European dairy prices are mixed on the week and the year with the largest gains for the year seen in skimmed milk powder and butter posting the largest declines.
