Pence asks House Ag Chair to help bring USMCA to vote

Vice President Pence crossed party lines while in Minnesota last week looking to get the US Mexico Canada Agreement ratified.

Pence visited a farm in Minnesota Democrat Collin Peterson’s district Thursday.

“I’m here to call on Congressman Peterson, who supports the USMCA, to call on Speaker Pelosi and tell her to bring the USMCA to the floor, and bring it to the floor soon.”

The Vice President told reporters covering the stop in Glyndon if USMCA is voted on in Congress, it will pass the House and Senate.

But Peterson, who chairs the House Ag Committee, says Pence is aware of some straightforward hurdles that remain.

Peterson points out Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has told the Administration USMCA is dead on arrival without the removal of steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
