Chambersburg woman dies in Antrim Township crash

An 83-year-old Chambersburg woman died during a three-vehicle crash in Buchanan Trail West Sunday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said. 

According to the report, a Greencastle man was driving a Honda Accord west on the road at about 9:51 a.m., when the car struck the back of a Ford Focus attempting to turn left into the Church of God's parking lot. A Jeep Grand Cherokee then struck the Ford's front bumper after it was pushed into the eastbound lane.

The woman, who was in the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. All three drivers were taken to Meritus Medical Center for their injuries.

  • A Fayetteville woman suffered minor injuries following a crash in which the vehicle she was driving traveled off Buchanan Trail West, Antrim Township, and struck a utility pole at about 2 p.m. on April 18, Pennsylvania State Police said. 
  • A Shippensburg woman was arrested for driving under the influence after authorities conducted a traffic stop on Cumberland Highway and Philadelphia Avenue, Greene Township, at about 12:30 a.m. on April 8, Pennsylvania State Police said. 
  • A driver was unharmed after the vehicle they were driving crossed over the oncoming traffic lane through a parking lot and struck a sign on Molly Pitcher Highway, Antrim Township, at about 7:30 p.m. on April 16, Pennsylvania State Police said. 
  • A Fayetteville woman and a Chambersburg man were found in possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing at the Baymount Hotel, Guilford Township, at about 12:48 p.m. on April 3, Pennsylvania State Police said. 
  • There were no injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 at about 6:30 p.m. on April 16, Pennsylvania State Police said. 
  • A driver was unharmed after the vehicle they were driving traveled off the road and struck a telephone pole on Path Valley Road, Metal Township, at about 5 a.m. on April 10, Pennsylvania State Police said.
