[productsamples/affiliate] When these popped through my letterbox I made the assumption that they’d be highly scented and flavoured. They’re not – nothing at all, which is absolute bliss for someone like me who’d rather not use scented or flavoured lip colours.
I remember liking the red balm when it came out a couple of years ago (maybe more) and there’s also a peachy shade, but these new colours, Rich Mocha, Hot Pink and Outrageous Orange just seem a bit more fun and interesting as well as being more multi-tone friendly. Actually, while the brand suggests that you can use on the cheeks, I’d say that they’re predominantly a lip product although they’re not super-shiny so at a pinch you could double up.
I can wear all of these shades well, but I’m veering more towards Mocha. In terms of balm performance, I can’t complain about it but it does contain petrolatum (listed first) so if you have any aversions to that, be aware. The next ingredient listed is aloe leaf, followed by olive oil, papaya fruit extract and potassium sorbate. Also, another assumption about Dr PawPaw is that it’s Australian (I momentarily confused it with Lucas PawPaw) – it isn’t … it’s straight out of Bromley (that’s a T-shirt in the making). I think it’s a great product – you get 25ml for £6.95 which seems extremely reasonable (and out of that, the brand makes a donation to Crisis) to me.
