Oxnard teen arrested on drug, firearm offenses
A teenager was arrested in Oxnard after some loiterers caught the attention of police officers, authorities reported.
At 3:35 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of El Dorado Avenue, officers saw several known gang members loitering just after a shooting victim was reported nearby, according to the Oxnard Police Department. The shooting report proved to be a false alarm.

The officers contacted the people seen loitering and found that one, a 17-year-old Oxnard resident, was in possession of .22-caliber ammunition, according to police.
Officers said they loaded .22-caliber sawed-off bolt-action rifle concealed in nearby bushes with a bag of numerous Xanax pills. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of numerous offenses related to firearms possession and narcotics, according to police.
