A teenager injured in a crash stemming from a triple shooting and police pursuit has died, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office reported Monday afternoon.

The 18-year-old died Sunday afternoon at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, according to an official at the office.

He was one of four occupants of a vehicle being chased by officers that was involved in a crash with a school bus and another vehicle shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 4000 block of West North Avenue.

A woman and a 13-year-old boy on the school bus and the occupant of the pickup truck were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The other three occupants of the suspect vehicle were also injured, police said.

The vehicle was involved in a shooting that wounded two girls, ages 13 and 16, and a 14-year-old boy shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 4600 block of North 36th Street, police said.

Their injuries were not life-threatening.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene of the shooting but the victims were uncooperative, police said.

On Monday Milwaukee police issued a statement saying that while it's a tragedy whenever a person dies as a result of fleeing from law enforcement, "it is imperative that motorists pull over when signaled by police."

"When motorists engage in reckless driving, they place their lives and the lives of others in danger," the statement said.

"The Milwaukee Police Department requests that all motorist abide by the rules of the road and not engage in reckless driving," it continued.

"Fleeing from police is a felony and Milwaukee police officers will pursue and arrest suspects who place the lives of others at risk."
