Rescue Ranch: Retirement home for senior & medically needy dogs needs your help

Lynn Leach-Yates

2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.  Since 2010, we have saved thousands of dogs & cats.  Some have found new forever homes.  Some spent their lives with a foster family who treated them like their own.

Our dogs do not live in cages or kennels but instead have free run of their foster homes, and now those at the Rescue Ranch live the same way.  We say the Ranch is not our home it is theirs!  737 Taylor Road, Windsor, PA is now proudly called The Rescue Ranch.  A place for senior dogs and medically needy dogs to live and heal.  Our goal is to make this 12-acre property a place where our fur buddies and human friends alike can spend time healing and enjoying each others company.

Zoey is one of the first two dogs staying at the Rescue Ranch, which will offer several play areas.

We are desperately in need of the following:

  • A general contractor to finish the first floor of the ranch so we can have our fun center, rags to wags groom room, and health center completed.
  • Plumbers and electricians to donate some time to place outside lighting, water hookups etc.
  • Our 10 acres of field needs to be seeded ASAP, and we cannot find anyone with equipment willing to help us.
  • We are looking for volunteers to help at the ranch during certain hours.  We are also looking for a vet tech or someone from the medical field that would live at the ranch and, in return for room and board, agree to take care of giving meds, vacs and helping to maintain the property.
  • A person to head our capital campaign, accountants, grant writers, fundraisers, groomers, sketch artists, illustrators, photographers, videographers, people who love to do outside yard work and gardening, cleaning etc.

We work tirelessly every day for the fur buddies in our care, and we have NO paid staff, so we greatly appreciate any help offered. Without the ranch, many senior/medically needy pups and some cats would not have the opportunity to live out their “golden years." Life is what you make of it, and here at The Rescue Ranch we strive to make every day extraordinary!
