Two lunchtime wrecks Monday keep San Angelo first responders busy

SAN ANGELO — Drivers are urged to exercise caution while first responders handle two major collisions that occurred minutes apart.

About 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, police issued a Nixle alert for a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and University Avenue. One driver was  trapped in her vehicle, according to police radio communications.

This crash began with a Nissan Juke going east on Knickerbocker Road, which failed to yield right of way when turning left on University Avenue, according to Officer Welch with the San Angelo Police Department.

The Juke was hit by a GMC SUV. The SUV's driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A second collision that caused a vehicle to flip on its side happened in the 3700 block of South Farm to Market Road 2288 near Chick-Fil-A, according to police radio communications.
