Armed robbery, kidnapping leads to arrest over weekend

A 28-year-old Shreveport man was arrested over the weekend on armed robbery and kidnapping charges after allegedly taking a man at gunpoint and demanding payment.

He was taken to the Shreveport City Jail and then later moved to the Caddo Correction Center where he is held with no bond, according to the jail records on Monday.

The victim told Shreveport Police on Saturday that he was walking down Jewella and Hollywood the evening before when he was cut off by a white vehicle. The vehicle’s occupant then pointed a gun at him and demanded money, according to police records.

The suspect then took the victim to retrieve his vehicle before taking the victim to a residence located on Egan Street. There, the suspect told the victim he wasn’t leaving until he got paid on the first of the month and that he would sell parts of the victim’s car if he didn’t get any more money, the victim reported to police.
