A series or lane and road closures is planned in coming days from Ventura to Fillmore along the Highway 126 corridor.

This weekend, the California Department of Transportation will fully close A Street in Fillmore between River Street and Highway 126 for paving work.

The closure of A Street, also known as Highway 23, will take place between 7 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday.Vehicles will be restricted from making right turns on to A Street in both directions.

Also, one lane of Highway 126 will be closed in both directions at A Street.

The closure will occur on four consecutive weekends.

The closure will come after overnight closures of lanes and ramps on Highway 126 this week from Ventura to Santa Paula for ongoing paving work.

Those closures are planned from about 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday through Friday.

One lane of the highway could be closed in each direction from Main Street in Ventura to Hallock Drive in Santa Paula, according to Caltrans.

In addition, entrance ramps and exit ramps along the stretch are also subject to closure, although no two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time, Caltrans officials said. Affected ramps are at Main Street, Victoria Avenue, Kimball Road, Wells Road, Briggs Road, Peck Road, Palm Avenue and 10th Street.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes or avoid the area if possible.
