Indianapolis weather: Dense fog impacts Easter morning travel

Officials are advising Central Indiana motorists to proceed with caution on Easter morning as heavy fog blankets the area.

According to the National Weather Service, the Indianapolis area will remain under a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m.

Visibility has been reduced to less than a quarter of a mile in the most heavily impacted areas, officials said. The weather is also capable of producing patchy frost that may create slick spots on the road.

Thick fog covers the road Sunday morning in the area of Township Line Road and West 79th Street.

The fog is expected to dissipate by 9 a.m., officials said.

Once it clears, the Easter forecast calls for a mostly sunny day with a high near 67 degrees.

Conditions are expected to remain clear after sunset, and temperatures should drop into the high 40s.
