Ventura woman arrested in suspected meth sales

Detectives arrested a woman in Ventura after an investigation into suspected methamphetamine sales in Ventura County, authorities said Saturday.

The three-month investigation was centered on the alleged narcotics activity of Linda Thompson, 57, of Ventura.

At 5 p.m. Wednesday, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office detectives found Thompson near her residence in the 900 block of Thompson Boulevard and served a signed search warrant of her person, vehicle and residence.

The search yielded a pound of suspected methamphetamine, five syringes filled with suspected heroin, miscellaneous prescription pills and an undisclosed sum of cash deemed to be proceeds from illegal narcotics sales, according to authorities.

Thompson was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale. She was booked into county jail and later released after posting $50,000 bail. She is due to be arraigned in court on May 3.
