I noticed they are not listing the Proof W Lincoln Cent. Maybe they are a ‘bonus’ coin and not ‘sold’. The one included in my Silver Proof Set ordered this week has a cost of $0.0. It would be nice if they eventually list a mintage for all three W Cents at some point this year.
Old Big Bird says
I just received my 6 sets of the 2019 Silver Proof sets.
All of the coins look great but the reverse “W” penny is exceptionally great.
Dustyroads says
That’s great OBB. My set is on the way. BTW, I see the Apostle Island “S” quarters are now sitting at the new low of 889,120. I’ve never been able to find these numbers anywhere yet, however I do have them all. I may have to create a website just for them. I’m sure there are a lot of people who would like to know.

Just how SMALL is the United States Mint’s numismatic side vs. The United States Treasury Bond market?
TOTAL sales for the United States Mint’s numismatic side for CY2018 = $291.3 Million
This WEEK’S sales for the United States Treasury:
Monday $42 billion in 13-week bills
Monday $36 billion in 26-week bills
Tuesday $26 billion in 52-week bills
Tuesday $40 billion in two-year notes
Wednesday $20 billion in two-year floating-rate notes
Wednesday $41 billion in five-year notes
Thursday $32 billion in seven-year notes
That’s a TOTAL of $237 Billion in just one WEEK…
cagcrisp says
I transposed two digits in the Mint number above…
Should be $293.1 Million…
…SO…
$293.1 Million for a year vs. $237 Billion for a week…

Cag, the Mint will make it up on “W” quarters & Rocket SHip Sets…………..
As you said & I asked, -> DIRECT Bullion sale$ would only help the bottom line….maybe a min. of 5???
cagcrisp says
@John Q. Coinage …
At least the Gimmick “W” penny is Increasing Mint sales. As far as I can tell the Gimmick “W” quarter isn’t doing Anything for the Mint’s bottom line.
It’s helping eBay sales and the TPGs
Looking at coins in your hand and searching through rolls, doesn’t improve GDP.
The TPG Gimmick “proof like” Kennedy’s in the Rocketship Did Improve the Mint’s Bottom Line…

Rocketship PL Update 04/22/2019 (From 04/04/2019)…
Pop report from 04/22/2019 for One Specific PCGS Label:
2019-D 50C Rocketship Set – First Strike, PL (Regular Strike)
65-34 +4
66-149 +31
67-180+93
67+-1
68-140+82
69-93+60
Pop report from 04/22/2019 for One Specific PCGS Label:

66-28+12
67-135+84

Thus you can see that Indeed a PL is not special (the PL designation is Not a U.S. Mint designation, it’s a TPG Gimmick designation), what Indeed is Driving the Bus is the 69s for a clad Kennedy…

The ultimate gimmick will be when the mint releases CBD coins. Give ’em time.

Walmart sets the tone in Arkansas for getting all the New Shiny Coins you want.
I’ve got Friends that work in Walmart’s corporate headquarters. We discuss financial stuff at times. I Thought about mentioning the “W” quarters to them.
At $30 a coin…Nope… x 5…
Jerry Diekmann says
I think collectors need to put these “W” quarters in perspective. The Mint is striking 2 million each of the 5 designs for 2019. Back in 1960, the small cent from Philadelphia totalled about 2 million also, and that was a much more collected series. I don’t know if the Mint ever published the exact number of small date P coins – I have never seen anything other than that estimate. The coin was avidly collected then but it was never a high priced coin. Two million coinage is a fairly large number, probably far surpassing the number of coin collectors in the USA. This is another short term fad feasted on by the TPGs and flippers. I believe the same will happen to these “W’ quarters. Like JCQ and cagcrisp have said, the days of young peoplelooking through their change are long gone. I myself hardly ever use coins anymore.
