Mary Perkins greets a customer Friday, April 5, 2019, at Heavenly Shoes Boutique, 43 W. Twohig Ave.

Mary Perkins loves shoes, not just for their aesthetics but because she loves to help people find the perfect pair.

Perkins went to school to become a certified shoe fitter. After years of working at another store, she decided to start her own business.

So, in 2013, she opened Heavenly Shoes at 43 W. Twohig Ave. near Irving Street and carries more than 20 brands.

“If you tell me what kind of problems you’ve got, I know what to put you in,” she said.

Most of the shoes she carries have removable insets, some are hand-stitched and others have arch support.

And all of them are cute as well as comfortable, she said.

The store is open 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and can be reached at 325-227-4630.
