Brunela (@BruCampi): a 27 year old Brazilian-Italian living in London, who is a Campaign Manager at Influencer. Yes that means rather wonderfully she does make a living watching a whole lot of Youtube videos and putting her thumbs to good use on Instagram. Much like her job, Brunela has a cool and slightly unusual approach to beauty products; including no less than three highlighters in one application and skipping facial cleanser in the A.M and a no mascara rule...

"I am obsessed with all things fashion, makeup and skincare so writing a bit about my favourite beauty products and why I like them felt like the most fun thing ever, so do forgive me for writing more than my fair share of words.

Living in Brazil for the vast majority of my life - the part of the country where I grew up in (sea-facing southeast, and no, not Rio) has an average of 13 summer months a year - I exaggerate, but you get the idea and as such my skin was very oily. As such I spent my teenage years religiously washing my face in an attempt to make it a little drier. I mean, come on, a "glowy" complexion wouldn’t work all too well with my early 2000's heavy black eyeliner, now would it?

Since moving to the UK, my skin has shifted completely from very oily to combination, and now it can be dry during the colder, winter months (my 15 year old self would be shocked). Such changes, combined with growing older and my maturing skin, have helped me to establish the skincare and makeup routine I have at the moment.

I don’t typically wash my face in the morning, so after my shower I just use my toner (it varies from
La Roche Posay Effaclar Exfoliating Lotion, Pixi Glow Tonic or Acqua Alle Rose Roberts Classical Distilled Water - I love them all equally) and then I apply La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Gel Dry Touch Cream with SPF50 under Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. I always use the sunscreen under my moisturiser because otherwise the clash of textures ruins my make-up.

I wear foundation everyday - MAC Face and Body Foundation; I like my skin to look like my skin but slightly better and this does exactly that, with a dewy finish that I love. I couple this with NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer (I've had mine for almost two years now and it is still going strong. Next I apply two creamy highlighters with my fingers: NARS Copacabana, quickly followed by MAC Cream Colour Base in Shell (Glossier Haloscope could never - sorry not sorry!).

I like to team MAC Bronzing Powder and NARS Dolce Vita as a blush - Dolce Vita is a few shades deeper than Orgasm and as such perfect for medium/olive skin tones, it just so happens it’s my favourite blush ever. I go strong on my cheeks because I rarely bother with eye make-up; often it is just a slick of Charlotte Tilbury eye pencil along the lash line. Right now I’m going through a mascara ban throughout the week, Jeanne Damas got me into the eyelash-curler only look and I’ve been loving it. If I am using mascara, I will always go for the Lancome Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara - it is the only one that holds my lashes curled for the whole day.

I finish my look with a little of NARS powder in Flash (I do not recommend, I am only using it as it was pricey and I want to use it up, rather than waste it) and the Becca Highlighter in Moonstone, which is dreamy. Yes, I will leave the house at 8.30AM with three different highlighters on my face and zero shame.

My night time skincare routine is one of my favourite bits of the day: I remove my makeup with a balm cleanser (often the Body Shop Chamomile one or equally coconut oil does the trick) then I use
Sensibio by Bioderma Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel (which is lovely and gentle), followed by my toner again. I rely on a few moisturisers, sometimes old school Nivea, y'know the one that comes in a tin? Or it may be Avene Hydrance Hydrating Cream teamed with a sheet mask - it really just depends on how I’m feeling. I like to with face massage every now and then but not with a Jade Roller, rather I just use my hands with some movements I’ve picked up from this video (it is in Portuguese but you can mute and still easily pick up a few steps).

I'm not overly fussy with my hair-care, it really is as simple as whatever Shampoo is available and then the Klorane Dry Shampoo for my fringe. My skin may not be oily anymore, but hair sure is.

It goes without saying that I am not dermatologist nor a make-up artist goes, everything I know has come from trial and error and getting to know myself - which comes with age and experience. However if I can pass on one universal and easy tip, it would be to please wear SPF on your face - 50-something year old you will thank you!" - @BruCampi
