National Pork Board pilots blockchain program

The National Pork Board has launched a pilot program to test blockchain technology in the pork industry.

Ripe Technology’s digital platform will allow producers to create shared records to address food issues like sustainability, traceability, quality and more.

Dr. Brett Kaysen with NPB says blockchain technology will help benchmark performance of the We Care principles while increasing transparency of the entire pork value chain.
