Suspected drug dealer arrested after undercover operation in Simi Valley

Deputies arrested a 31-year-old Los Angeles man after an undercover drug sales investigation, according to authorities.

The arrest took place at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Tapo Canyon Road in Simi Valley.

Investigators said they had been in undercover contact with the suspect, identified as Dru Peebles, 31, of Los Angeles. Authorities were able to find Peebles after he offered to sell prescription medications to the undercover detective.

While Peebles was detained, detectives searched his vehicle and found a prescription medication along with many other illegal substances. Overall, the search yielded 1,700 prescription pills, 110 ml of anabolic steroids, 147 doses of LSD, 165 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 12 grams of MDMA and paraphernalia related to drug sales, according to authorities. 

Peebles was arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled substances for sale and booked into Ventura County jail, according to authorities. He was later released on bond.
