House Democrats concerned about USMCA

House Democrats have expressed concerns about the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement as the Trump administration is trying to build congressional support for it.

House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal wrote a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and said House Democrats will be reaching out in the next few days about labor and environmental standards in the USMCA.

He says there must be “mechanisms” in the agreement to ensure that those provisions are enforceable

The USMCA still must be ratified by all three countries.
