Tom Ford Lost Cherry

I’ve been nipping in and out of central London a lot over the past couple of weeks and if I possibly can, I stop at a department store for a spritz of Lost Cherry. It’s a truly sumptuous fragrance that I keep thinking about long after the spritz has worn off, but I don’t trust myself not to just be having a fleeting passion with this perfume – I’m not sure I’m in it for the long haul enough to drop over £200 on a bottle.

There’s so much cherry in this – the notes are fresh cherry over cherry brandy which in turn is over woody notes. The sandalwood comes to the fore after the juice has settled on the skin for a while but the initial blast is one of those that makes you stand still and inhale because it’s just so delicious! Lost Cherry is warmly sweet without being cloying, has floral hints (rose and jasmine) but is overwhelmingly cherry-ish. For such a big fragrance, the last isn’t amazing – I can see that little bottle disappearing in no time at all not least because it’s exceptionally more-ish. The note that I’m left with after the cherry and sandalwood have gone is jasmine so I have no complaints at all there – if I’m still thinking about it in a couple of weeks, I might have to give in.
