WPS Farm Show begins in Oshkosh
The 59th WPS Farm Show gets underway Tuesday in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Rob Juneau with Wisconsin Public Service or WPS says, “Anything that’s new in agriculture, or whatever a farm needs to get their work done, so we’ve got stuff for hobby farms and we’ve got stuff for large farms.
Juneau says Farmers can learn what’s new, and he says their farm experts have been seeing a lot of one type of new equipment. “Robotics seems to be the really popular thing so all of the milking equipment dealers will have their robots here.”
Juneau says as an electric utility, hosting a farm show also gives them an opportunity to reach out to farmers about safety and money saving programs. “It helps with reducing stray voltage numbers and employee safety. You hate to see someone electrocuted because of this day and age. We’ve got rewiring programs so we can explain to people how that works where we can actually help give them money to help update their farm wiring.” When it comes to saving money, Juneau says they help identify what uses the most power on farms and, “how to conserve electricity and save money in a time when everybody needs every dime that they can get.”
The WPS Farm Show is at the Experimental Aircraft Association grounds in Oshkosh through Thursday.
