This was great! Hope you enjoyed your trip!!
Scrapbooking Disney (travel in general) is my favorite thing! It’s so hard to keep up or get any scrapbooking done while actually on vacation but I do try to…
-delete bad/blurry/unnecessary duplicate pics each night
-favorite some good pics I know I’ll want to use each night
-I usually scrapbook with the Project Life App so it’s easy to journal right on a card in the app (using the voice to text feature also helps)
-the Project Mouse line of products at The Lilypad is fantastic for Disney trips
-I sometimes duplicate a page in the app if I want a similar layout and then I just replace the pics and cards (this keeps it simple and doable for large projects)

This episode was fun/inspiring/motivating 🙂 I went on a big family Disney trip in January 2016 (the first I’d been there in about 20 years, and the first as an adult), and it was a remarkably special experience. I knew going in that I was going to have a lot of photos, and I knew that I wanted to make a scrapbook, even though I also knew that it would likely take me years to complete… but that has become part of the fun, in a way.
My kids were very small, so I made a big wordless photo book of our most favorite photos right away so that they could see them “in print”, and I made them each a very short specialized scrapbook (8×8 size)– the princesses/characters that my 5-year-old daughter met, and my 2-year-old son’s favorites. Ever since, I’ve been plotting and slowly creating layouts for my actual physical scrapbook. It’s a goal of mine to make some significant progress in that album this year, and I have made quite a few layouts, as well as done some major planning (which is the necessary first step for my style of scrapbooking).
Perhaps I won’t ever finish the album (but I am an upholder and a finisher, so very likely I will, even if it it will be years from now), but I am thankful for the detailed journals I kept and the memorabilia folders I brought so that I can transport myself back to those memories any time I open that album– to work on it, or to look at it.
P.S. I have written a number of blog posts about my projects and plans… https://vegetablog.wordpress.com/category/disney-2016-scrapbook/

We took a big trip to WDW in 2014 and the album I made afterwards is one of my favorite projects I’ve done. I used a 6×12 album from hobby lobby and alternated pages that had (3) 4×6 slots and (2) 4×6 slots with (2) 2×3 slots in the middle. It allowed me to put in a lot of pictures without the overwhelming size of 12×12. I used the project life dividers to separate by day/park so we can easily flip sections. Because I had the 2×3 slots I was able to easily add journaling and decorative cards. I used journaling cards that I founded on Pinterest that had a small colored Mickey head in the corner. Most of my decorative cards were from Project Mouse – which I love. Their collections allow you to have the Disney feel without it being all primary colors. We collected a lot of autographs so I also made a small photo album from my son with the autograph cards and a picture of him with each character.

Loved this podcast, love Disney trips!!! A helpful tip that I’ve used for documenting trips is with the Google Maps app. If you keep your location on your phone, you can easily look at your “timeline” to see when and where you were at any given time. Just go into the app, and hit the 3 stacked lines in the upper left hand corner, then click on timeline. From there you can pick any date on the calendar. You’ll see pictures matching the timeline too! Have fun scrapbooking!!!
