DES MOINES, IOWA — The Michigan State men's basketball team wore throwback jerseys for Saturday's NCAA Tournament game against Texas Tech.

The jerseys honor the 1979 NCAA National Championship team from Michigan State, which included Magic Johnson.

Many people were wondering about a patch on the right side of the shorts. The patch has a green band with the words "Michigan State" around a ball that has the word "Spartans" across the middle.

Michigan State wore the same uniforms in Thursday's opening round of the NCAA Tournament against Bradley and in their second round matchup against Minnesota.

The patch previously had people confused on Twitter.
