Ohio farmer says infrastructure is a top priority

Logan County farmer Tucker Berg says infrastructure is a top priority for Ohio Farm Bureau members.

Berg met with Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio’s 4th district in DC last week.

“Ohio has over 2,000 bridges and about 1,300 of those are load limited right now,” he says. “Roadways, until you get to the river, are our key path to move commodities so keeping roads and bridges in tact and keeping their health up plays a vital role to our commodity market.”

He tells Brownfield farm bureau continues to advocate for investments in infrastructure.

Berg says it’s critical to talk to lawmakers about issues that impact farms and communities.

“You can have some impact on (issues),” he says. “We’re voters and if they want to gain votes, we need to hear form the guys at the bottom of the pole.”

Berg spoke to Brownfield during the Ohio Farm Bureau County Presidents Trip to DC last week.
