Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has asked President Trump to grant an expedited Major Disaster Declaration for 57 counties that have been impacted by recent flooding along the Missouri River and other parts of the state.

In her request, Reynolds also indicated that the state will need federal recovery assistance in addition to what is granted through a Presidential Disaster Declaration, for agriculture, businesses, homes and levees.

The projected impact to the state of Iowa in those areas is one-point-six billion dollars.
