Gas leak discovered at Holloman Elementary

Alamogordo Public Schools Maintenance staff discovered a gas leak at Holloman Elementary School March 20 at about 11:00 a.m. on the high pressure side of the utility inlet.

Holloman Civil Engineering and the Holloman Fire Department were contacted about the issue and the gas line was shut down for repairs.

At this time, the Holloman Elementary Cafeteria is not affected by this leak.

Warm temperatures Wednesday did not require the use of heat in the building and should have no effect on class schedule.

Parents will be informed if there are further developments by school officials.

"APS takes the responsibility and safety of our students very seriously. Appropriate response has been taken and our students were not at risk," read a release from the school.
