Brook Lopez gets shoots over Lakers guard Reggie Bullock on Tuesday night.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear basketball uniforms and size 20 sneakers.

With 10 minutes, 21 seconds remaining in the second quarter of Tuesday's game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, a shot by D.J. Wilson was off the mark and wound up bouncing over the backboard and getting stuck between a camera and the shot clock.

While Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope called for a ball he could throw at the one perched high above the hoop, Bucks center Brook Lopez somewhat reluctantly sprang into action off the bench.

“I looked at Giannis (Antetokounmpo), but he was out tonight, so the responsibility then came down to me," Lopez said.

Lopez was then handed a mop used to keep the court dry and tasked with getting the game ball down. The 7-footer put the mop in his right hand and fully extended his arm, using a slight hop to the balls of his feet to thrust at the ball.

One poke was all he needed and the ball rattled down, drawing a loud cheer from the Fiserv Forum crowd. On his way back to the bench Lopez basked in the applause, bowing and putting both arms up in celebration like an Olympic gymnast at the end of a gold-medal routine.

“We’re all heroes, we’re just each waiting for our moment and mine came tonight," Lopez said with a broad smile after the Bucks' 115-101 victory, a game in which he also scored 28 points.
