Light showers to start Tuesday; concern low for flooding or debris flow in Ventura County

Forecasters expect a couple of days of light showers this week but don’t predict enough rain to cause any major issues in Ventura County.

Ryan Kittell, a forecaster with the National Weather Service, said the county’s biggest problem through Thursday will likely be wet roads.

“It won’t be very significant rain, no real flood or debris-flow issues,” he said.

The light rain was expected to pick up late Tuesday and carry on through Thursday intermittently. Kittell said there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday.

On Wednesday, “we expect to see a few lightning strikes followed by brief, more intense rain,” Kittell said.

He said he expects the county to dry out after Thursday with a very slight chance for more rain Saturday.
