Gillibrand holds town hall after joining 2020 race
New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand will conduct an MSNBC town hall in Michigan on Monday, one day after formally joining the crowded Democratic field of candidates for president in 2020. "I’m running for president," she tweeted Sunday. "Let’s prove that brave wins." Gillibrand, 52, made the announcement on Twitter with a two-and-a-half- minute video in which she talks about universal health care, family leave, an end to gun violence, the Green New Deal and campaign finance changes. Gillibrand, one of six women in the Democratic field, launched an exploratory campaign in January.

A year after Stephon Clark's death: Activists, police still at odds
As activists in Sacramento commemorate Stephon Clark, the unarmed black man killed by police a year ago Monday, one salient fact stands out about his supporters and law enforcement: the passage of time has done little to mend their rift. Sacramento's Black Lives Matter chapter plans to hold a memorial on Monday for Clark, who was gunned down in his grandparents’ backyard as police responded to complaints that he had broken car windows and a neighbor’s sliding glass door. The group plans to march in the Meadowview neighborhood where Clark died at 22, then head toward a park. “I’m not working with law enforcement because they have been extremely adversarial,’’ said Sonia Lewis, chapter leader of BLM Sacramento.
Tesla's raising prices after Monday
Tesla is raising prices and scaling back its decision to close most of its stores. The electric vehicle company's sudden reversal adds to investor concerns that it lacks a cohesive strategy for growing into a major international automaker. After previously cutting prices by an average of 6 percent, the company is now raising prices by an average of 3 percent.Customers can still get the full price cut through Monday, with the Model S sedan starting at $69,750 and the Model X SUV starting at $78,950.

"The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley," airing Monday (9 EDT/PST), follows the jaw-dropping rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, whose multi-billion-dollar startup promised cheap, portable blood tests for all. The catch? None of the technology actually worked and results were wildly inaccurate, forcing the company to correct and void tens of thousands of blood tests given at pharmacies where its equipment was used in 2014 and 2015.
'Road rage' leaves one dead and three, including state trooper, injured
A suspect charged with killing one man and injuring three other people, including a Highway Patrol trooper, in Montana was expected to make an initial court appearance Monday, the Associated Press reported. The suspect, identified as Johnathan Bertsch, was taken into custody Friday morning with the help of his father. Burton Bertsch said his son had called him and told him, “I had a road rage incident. ... I think I might have shot a cop,” according to charging documents. He has been charged with deliberate homicide and three counts of attempted deliberate homicide.
