Residents injured after breaking out window to escape Chambersburg area house fire

Residents sustained injuries as a result of a house fire early Thursday in Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Firefighters responded at about 1 a.m. to a fire at 2656 Falling Spring Road. 

Family members were able to escape by breaking out a window, police said. They got out before firefighters arrived, Fayetteville Fire Company said on Facebook. 

The police report did not state how many people were at the house or the severity of their injuries. 

The single-family home sustained heavy damage, police said. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

Public Opinion has contacted the chief of New Franklin Volunteer Fire Company, thhe lead agency on the scene, for comment and will update this post if we get additional information.
