Ruidoso construction rebounds in February
Numbers mirror February 2018
February saw construction in Ruidoso and surrounding areas rebound after dipping in January.
The Ruidoso building division of the Planning and Zoning Department issued 101 permits, representing a value of $3,576,821, and generating fees of $28,884.
That total includes eight new residential buildings with a value of $2.594 million.

Other significant categories were residential garages and carports for $469,495; a new commercial building for $115,000 and a commercial addition for $195,400,
Those figures compare to January, when 68 permits were issued for a value of $1,662,547. Community Development Director Tim Dodge attributed the drop to cold and snowy weather.
The numbers are more in line with February 2018 when 72 permits were issued for a value of $3.8 million, generating $31,035 in fees. Only one permit was issued that month for a new home, which was valued at $457,170.

Some of the builders filing for the housing starts were Baudo Builds for $246,296; Sierra Blanca Enterprises for $546,238; Chandler Builders Inc. for $629,387; and EFC General Construction for $315,539.
