Ethanol stocks close to record high

U.S. ethanol supplies rose to near record levels last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says stocks of 24.261 million barrels were up 552,000 barrels, just short of the all-time high of 24.281 million barrels set on the week ending March 9th, 2018.

The industry is waiting for more details on year-round E15 implementation and possible export demand from China, along with potential policy changes at the EPA.

Average daily production was down 4,000 barrels on the week at 1.024 million barrels a day.

The USDA’s updated corn for ethanol use estimate is out Friday.
