Missouri Ethics Commission v. Free and Fair Election Fund


The Supreme Court, Docket Number 18-896, Missouri Ethics Commission v. Free and Fair Election Fund, from the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, will determine whether, under the First Amendment, a State may Prohibit Political Action Committees (PAC) from Transferring Money to other Political Action Committees.

On Nov. 26th 2018 - Application to extend the Time to File a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari from December 9th, 2018 to February 7th, 2019, was submitted to Justice Gorsuch.

On Feb. 6th 2019 - Distributed for Conference of Feb. 22nd 2019.

Response Due March 15th, 2019.

The Court Grants in part and Denies in part Defendants’ Motions to Dismiss, Partially Grants Plaintiffs’ Motions, and Enjoins Defendants’ Enforcement of Section 23 in a Manner Inconsistent with this Order.
