U.S. and China continue trade talks

President Trump plans to meet with China’s Vice Premier this afternoon to discuss trade. Chinese and U.S. officials are back in negotiations after spending more than nine hours at the bargaining table Thursday.

Bloomberg reports up to six memorandums of understanding related to agriculture, non-tariff barriers, and intellectual property rights might form the foundation of a trade deal, but there are still concerns about approving more U.S. biotech crops and how to enforce the final deal.

President Trump and Chinese President Xi are still scheduled to meet next month.  Unless Trump sees significant progress, additional tariffs are set to go on Chinese goods March 1st.
