Ethanol production lower, stocks higher

U.S. ethanol production declined last week, while stocks were higher. The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 996,000 barrels a day, down 33,000 from the previous week, with continued industry concerns about margins, along with uncertainties about the implementation of year-round E15 use and EPA policy.

Supplies were up 447,000 barrels at 23.913 million, the first increase in three weeks.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out March 8th.
