A Milwaukee man is accused of killing his former girlfriend the day she was scheduled to talk to the district attorney's office about two prior domestic violence incidents, according to a criminal complaint.

Ramone L. Jones

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Ramone L. Jones, 44, who is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the stabbing death Feb. 5 of Jamie Wilson, 36, according to the complaint and state court records. He was still at-large Friday.

According to the complaint:

Jones had been living with Wilson in her home in the 7000 block of West Fiebrantz Avenue but had not been paying any bills.

He was angry with Wilson because she had recently kicked him out for repeatedly beating and threatening her, and he kept returning to the home and threatening her.

On Jan. 29, Jones attacked Wilson outside the home, repeatedly punching and kicking her when she returned from shopping.

The next day he returned, kicked in the door, fired a gun and threatened to kill Wilson and her 11-year-old daughter if she told police.

Wilson did call police, according to the complaint, which states that Jones remained on the scene but does not indicate whether he was arrested.

On Feb. 4, police interviewed Wilson and ordered her to appear in the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office at 1:30 p.m. the next day for a review of both incidents.

Fearing for her safety, Wilson and her daughter stayed at a motel that night but returned to the home the next morning.

Jones also returned to the home that morning, shooting and wounding a friend of Wilson's before breaking into the bathroom, where Wilson was taking a shower. After firing a shot, Jones went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife before returning to the bathroom and stabbing Wilson multiple times.

Wilson then staggered to the garage, where she collapsed and died, according to the complaint.

Jones also faces other charges in connection with the case, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the complaint.

Jones is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Milwaukee police at (414) 935-7360.
